8th Grade Religion

In 8th grade we focus on Catholic social teaching and explore ways to improve conditions in our world, especially for those in need.  We also focus on morality and Christian decision making. During the Lenten season the 8th graders study the story of the Passion and prepare for a play they put on for the entire community. The students work very hard on The Passion Play. They keep a journal  and  continually try and get deeper and reflect on this amazing story to get closer to the Love that Christ has for all of us. We also review parts of the Mass and Liturgy, learn or review key Catholic prayers and vocabulary, celebrate Catholic customs and are conscious of the liturgical calendar. We also pay special attention to the holy seasons of Advent and Lent. I look forward to a great year and working with all of the students.
